Hilltopper For The Day
We are so pleased that you are interested in becoming a future Hilltopper!
Choosing your high school is a big decision. Thankfully, attending a Hilltopper for the Day event is the perfect way for prospective students to get a feel for our schedule, campus and culture - and we are confident that you will join the thousands of past and present Hilltoppers in loving what TMLA has to offer.
Who is this program for?
Girls in grades 7 - 8 who are interested in applying to and (hopefully!) attending TMLA, starting in grade 9. Pre-registration for this type of visit is required - we do not accept walk-ins .
How does it work?
Share your interests in the form below, and we will do our best to match you with a current TMLA student who can tailor the best visit related to your specific interests. You will follow your host student's schedule as if it were your own, experiencing a real day in the life of a high-school student at TMLA! You will get to meet TMLA staff, eat in our cafeteria with other students while enjoying a complimentary lunch, and tour the campus.
What is the schedule, roughly?
- 7:30 - 7:45 am: parent drop-off via Wexford Terrace entrance
- 7:45 - 8:00 am: the visiting student will check in with staff in the General Office before being connected with their TMLA host student
- 8:00 am - 1:21 pm: visiting students will follow their host student's schedule and then be escorted to the General Office, pending parent pick-up
- 1:30 pm: parent pick-up
What should visiting students wear?
The best options are your current school uniform, or "church clothes," or "professional" clothes - think a knee-length skirt, dress, or slacks with a dress shirt, blouse or sweater. Please do not wear jeans, hoodies, sweats, sneakers, sandals, Uggs, or Crocs - remember, you are here to experience high school!
Do visiting students need to bring breakfast or lunch?
Students should eat breakfast before arrival. For lunch, all visiting students will receive a complimentary meal in our cafeteria. If your student has specific dietary requirements, it may be best if you provide them with lunch instead, however please note they will not be able to refrigerate or reheat their food.
What else do I need to know?
- Parents/guardians are responsible to notify their grammar school that their student will be absent from school for a Buddy Day.
- Students may not use their phones while participating in Hilltopper for the Day, however they may keep their phones in their backpack, and make calls from the General Office if need be.
