TMLA College Fair Opens Windows for Academic Futures

TMLA hosted a successful College Fair in early October, bringing together representatives from over 65 colleges and universities from across the Northeast.

Held in the cafeteria, our College Fair provided students with the opportunity to explore a wide range of higher education options.  Admissions officers distributed brochures, answered questions, and offered valuable insights into their institutions' programs, campus life, and application processes.

TMLA students and their families engaged in meaningful conversations and gathered resources to help them make informed decisions about their academic futures.

Students commented:

“I loved the atmosphere of the College Fair. It provided my family and me some clarity on the academic side of applying to college. We were able to learn the difference between an athletic scholarship and a regular college scholarship and how both of these processes would differ depending on the route I take.    My family and I feel much more confident about both the application process and the athletic side after attending the fair.

“I also got to learn about the study abroad programs that some schools have…

“I figured out which schools were academically and socially appealing to me…

”The College Fair helped me feel more confident about the next steps in the college application process.”

The event was organized and supported by Ms. Hassett, the College Counselor, Mrs. Corrado, the manager of Post-Secondary Readiness, and Mrs. Steavenson, with additional assistance from the Student Services Department.

The College Fair plays an essential role in preparing students for their transition to higher education, giving them a firsthand look at the diverse opportunities available while fostering excitement for their post-secondary journeys.
