Welcome to Class of 2028

Dean for TMLA 9th year students, Mrs. Laura Antzoulis welcomed into the Mary Louis family the Class of 2028 on August 29.  At this time TMLA President Livia Angiolillo, Principal Loriann  Murphy, Assistant Principal Jean Mauro, and School Counselor Lisa Mendolia also extended their welcomes to the new Class of 2028.

Mrs. Antzoulis then introduced the students to their Senior Sisters whose pin reminds viewers –“Women are Natural Born Leaders.”  Seniors accompanied 9th year students during this day – a special day to have fun, to keep an open mind, to meet new friends and to begin to work together.

Divided into homeroom groups, students engaged in a variety of activities. Each Home Room developed a motto for the group and discussed matters such as birthday celebration procedures.

Members of faculty introduced ideas about Faith, Service and Technology that will involve students as they go through the school year.

Students then embarked on the marshmallow challenge, a design activity to develop team-building as each group competes to build the tallest free-standing structure.

Barbeque lunch on the lawn followed by a dance party were times everyone enjoyed.

After lunch Home Rooms were then directed to activities, such as Crusader School song and Sing-a-Long.  “Need to Know Before You Go” handbook overview led by Mrs. Antzoulis included a uniform fashion show. The Scavenger hunt that followed helped Freshwomen to get acquainted with the school and meet others.

For the last Ceremony, Senior Sisters come to the stage and pin on Freshwomen Sisters their name tag with memento: “Mary Louis women are Natural Born Leaders –and I am One.”

School President Ms. Angiolillo and 9th Year Dean Mrs. Antzoulis distributed cookies for TMLA Cookie Send-Off.

Students reflect on the day:  ‘I loved Orientattion Day with the barbeque because I was able to get a glimpse of how the next 4 years at TMLA would be.  The music, dances, and people were fun as well.’  Adrianne

“Barbeque day was a great opportunity to learn more about Mary Louis and meet new people.”     Sibylle
