Covid-19 Update

Updated August 19, 2020

On August 7, 2020, Governor Cuomo announced that schools may reopen in the Fall.  In a question and answer period that followed, the Governor said there is no approval for interscholastic sports to resume, as of yet. The state and league associations are having ongoing discussions. Until we have further guidance from the Governor, we are on pause until the September 21, 2020 Fall start date currently in place. The New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association (NYSCHSAA) has stated that no activity may take place, on any campus, prior to that date.

Unfortunately, due to the current health concerns, The Mary Louis Academy Athletic Department will not be hosting summer clinics this year.

The health and well-being of our Student-Athletes, coaches, staff and fans remains our top priority. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide specific Fall Try-out information, at this time. Please continue to check our website and social media pages as more guidelines, from the state and city officials, become available to us. If you have any questions, please email the Athletic Director at

We appreciate your continued support of our Athletic Program. Go Hilltoppers!

The goal of the Department of Athletics is the same as that of the school: All- Inclusiveness and Unity.

This mission is demonstrated by the overall number of student- athletes participating on competitive teams, nearly 33% of the school’s population. The Department of Athletics recognizes its role in promoting school pride and uniting students, faculty, staff, and alumni through shared experiences.

TMLA offers a balanced, high-quality athletic program for student- athletes who wish to pursue their athletic interests within an environment of uncompromising integrity and excellence, now and beyond their four years at The Mary Louis Academy.

Our teams compete in both the Brooklyn/ Queens and Nassau/ Suffolk Dioceses of the Catholic High School Athletic Association.
